Dr Shacchee Baweja

Dr Shacchee is a Paediatrician who has switched over totally to Lactation Consultancy.
Her journey as a Paediatrician started in 2001 and it brought her in close contact with mother baby dyads, where she discovered her passion for the cause of breastfeeding. After she had her first child, she realised that widespread prevalence of myths and the lack of skilled breastfeeding support in the Indian society makes it difficult for a mother to breastfeed.
This strengthened her resolve to become a trained lactation support person.
She is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant ) and BPNI (Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India) certified IYCF ( Infant and Young Child Feeding) Specialist.
Currently she is associated with BLK Superspecialty Hospital where she works with all mother baby dyads and their families and offers them skilled lactation support in achieving their breastfeeding goals . She has special interest in working with mothers with babies in NICUs and guides them in providing their babies breastmilk and/or in transitioning to direct breastfeeding.
She also conducts classes for Doctors/ nurses and expectant parents.
She dreams of a day when there is such widespread awareness about normalcy of breastfeeding and risks of formula feeding that families when facing challenges in breastfeeding actively seek skilled breastfeeding help !
She is amongst the founding members of Association of Lactation Professionals India(ALPI), which is a step further towards a goal of making Skilled breastfeeding support a reality in India.

Dr Vipul Baweja
Consultant Pediatrician
Dr Vipul Baweja started his medical career in 1993 from University College of Medical Sciences & associated Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi from where he Graduated in MBBS. During his early years, while working with kids in pediatric wards or in rural health centres of Loni, UP, he developed interest in Child care and he took up Paediatrics as his career in the year 2000 and trained from Kalawati Saran Children Hospital & Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi.
Subsequently , he has served at Hindu Rao Hospital-Delhi, Kalawati Saran Children Hospital &Lady Hardinge Medical College and at Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre-Delhi(Pediatric Cardiology).
He joined BLK Super Speciality Hospital in 2009 and has been actively involved in general outpatient services, inpatient services, emergencies, etc. He is currently a Consultant in Centre for Child Health and is part of a proud team of Pediatricians.
His aim is to provide a holistic general Pediatric care in today’s era of Super Speciality care, where the vision is getting more and more tubular or focussed and the basic care and preventive health aspects of a child are being forgotten.
